Webcredible launches accessible CMS for local and central government websites
User experience consultancy, Webcredible, today announces the full launch of its accessible Content Management System (CMS), an easy-to-use product designed to make sure that websites, particularly local and central government websites, are highly accessible and compliant to Level AAA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), while ensuring that they are also highly optimised for search engines.
Webcredible's CMS is built purely with accessibility in mind and is suitable for any website where accessibility is a primary concern. The CMS is especially targeted at organisations such as local and central government departments which legally have to adhere to strict accessibility rules.
Features of Webcredible's accessible CMS include:
- Actually forces content editors to create accessible pages (up to AAA-compliant).
- Extremely easy-to-use and highly intuitive - It has been through a number of rounds of usability testing
- Produces search engine optimised pages - Users specify the page name and the CMS will ensure these keywords are placed in the positions search engines look for them
- Advanced AJAX functionality enhancing the user experience and ease of use (with accessible, non-JavaScript alternatives available)
- Simple search engine-friendly URLs
Webcredible's accessible CMS is being fully launched following a successful beta trial with digital recruitment company, Norton Leigh.
Trenton Moss, Director at Webcredible comments, “Webcredible's CMS is one of very few to put accessibility at the forefront of its proposition and actually forces the creation of accessible web pages. With automatic accessibility functions including providing accurate alternative text for images, correct heading structure and accessible page content, Webcredible's CMS is ideal for local and central government organisations, and any other company to meet the accessibility needs of their online users.”
More information on the accessibility features of the CMS can be found at www.webcredible.co.uk/cms.
