Webcredible strengthens technical expertise with appointment of new head of web development

Webcredible, a leading usability and accessibility consultancy, has appointed Paul McCarthy to the newly created role of head of web development. Paul will take on the role of technical evangelist for the consultancy, taking responsibility for managing the technical aspects of client projects and providing insights into emerging technologies such as Web 2.0 applications. He will also be responsible for developing the consultancy's new Content Management System.

Paul has more than six years web design experience and particular expertise working with PHP-based content management systems and a number of web development tools. Paul joins Webcredible from the Metropolitan Police, where he held the position of senior intranet and internet developer. He played an integral role in developing and managing all web-based solutions hosted on the Metropolitan Police intranet and implementing its Internet Content Management System.

“Webcredible prides itself on always communicating with clients in a jargon-free way and Paul has an enviable ability to make technical issues easy to understand, which is a rarity among web programmers. His in-depth technical knowledge will help our clients to bring the latest technologies to their websites and keep one step ahead of the competition,” said Trenton Moss, director, Webcredible.

Webcredible plans to expand its team of usability experts and web developers by 25 per cent over the next six months. The consultancy is currently seeking a number of web developers to support Paul McCarthy and is also looking to appoint a usability specialist as its new head of client services.
