Webcredible launches open and collaborative participatory consultancy

Web usability and accessibility specialist, Webcredible is challenging the way consultancies operate with a revolutionary new participatory service. The clear and collaborative approach allows clients to work side-by-side with the consultancy in a completely transparent process, enabling them to benefit first-hand from Webcredible's expertise and knowledge. Leading independent financial website Moneyfacts is the first company to take advantage of the service.

The participatory initiative is available across Webcredible's full service portfolio including usability and accessibility user testing, web development and website evaluation. It has been designed to help clients fully understand and contribute to the thought process, while gaining on-the-job training and knowledge transfer.

Moneyfacts selected Webcredible's participatory consultancy service in order to determine how it could optimise its online user experience. Having received training from Webcredible and with an existing understanding of usability, Moneyfacts' senior developer Richard Flude, was able to work as a consultant within Webcredible's project team, allowing him to see first-hand how users respond to the website and how long it takes before they find what they're looking for.

“Many consultancies are 'cloak and dagger' when it comes to advising companies on how to run their businesses and the client rarely benefits from understanding the thinking behind the report and recommendations,” commented Trenton Moss, director, Webcredible. “The participatory consultancy service offers clients an open and interactive way of working, which we believe is set to shape the future of consultancy.”

Richard Flude, of Moneyfacts, said; “Webcredible's unique approach to consulting was an instant draw, allowing us to work closely with them to find the answers that were critical to the success of our web development project. Participatory consultancy has provided us with expert knowledge and an invaluable insight which has allowed us to effectively appraise our website from the user's perspective. We now have an excellent understanding of how to make our online experience as simple and user-friendly as possible.”
