Head of client services

Webcredible is recruiting! We're looking for a bright spark with strong people skills to join our team on a permanent basis in London, UK, in the role of head of client services.

We don't currently have any dedicated account managers so are looking to build up this function within the company. Once you're established in your role, you'll have full ownership of the company account management strategy and will be responsible for growing and managing a team of account managers.

About the job

As head of client services you'll perform hands-on account management for key client relationships. Your role will involve developing and implementing our account management strategy and delivering on commercial targets. Long-term, as your team expands, you'll do less hands-on account management and more team management.

You will:

  • Implement our account management strategy and deliver against targets
  • Develop and actively manage our client relationships
  • Collaborate with the company directors to provide foresight and client intelligence
  • Participate in new business development activities as required (including writing proposals and giving pitch presentations)
  • Show leadership by setting a strong 'client services' example across the company
  • Develop sector or subject matter interests and cultivate such interests amongst the account management team

This is an office based role but will require travel to client sites.

About you

You'll need to have:

  • The ability to take a 'big picture' view on a problem or organisation and conceive, promote and pitch user experience solutions to an account
  • People management skills and the ability to inspire and lead a team
  • Good planning skills with the ability to read, understand and produce project plans
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with strong face-to-face presentation and influencing skills

In terms of previous experience, you'll ideally have done as much as possible of the following:

  • Been in an account management or business development role for at least 2 years for a user experience consultancy or digital agency
  • Gained a solid understanding of user-centred design through practical experience
  • Managed a small team, preferably managing account managers
  • Delivered against client relationship targets and financial targets
  • Gained 'hands-on' experience of managing projects yourself with proven experience of delivering on time and within budgetary constraints
  • Defined and managed the scope of projects, including budgeting

Benefits

In addition to being rewarded with a competitive salary and excellent career advancement opportunities, you'll benefit from a number of perks:

  • Flexible benefits package (you choose the benefits most important to you)
  • Company pension scheme
  • Flexitime (work to the hours that best suit you)
  • 23 days holiday as well as a free day off on your birthday (plus option to buy more holiday)
  • Commission on any leads generated
  • 3-day personal training/conference budget per year
  • Travel loan
  • Free bi-weekly on-site massage
  • Free book purchase every month
  • Free team lunch every two weeks and evening social event every month
  • Free fruit and fresh coffee every day (the most important of all!)
