Improve the usability / accessibility of your CMS
Webcredible can work with you to improve the usability and/or accessibility of your content management system.
For usability improvements we'd typically interview content editors and conduct usability testing with them on the CMS. For accessibility recommendations, we'd usually conduct an accessibility audit on the back-end of the CMS, evaluating how well it supports the needs of blind and disabled content editors.
We'll combine this real-world testing and/or audit with our extensive CMS expertise to produce a report. The report outlines recommended changes to be made and is focused around recommendations (rather than issues). This makes it easy for you to action the proposed changes.
Have your CMS output more accessible web pages
Webcredible will thoroughly examine how your CMS works and how it produces web pages. We'll then produce a recommendation-driven report telling you exactly what changes need to be implemented in order to ensure outputted web pages offer outstanding accessibility.
Typically, fixes that need to be made include:
- Stripping out surplus code when content is copied and pasted from Microsoft Word
- Providing content editors with default values for page settings (e.g. page title)
- Reducing / changing options when editing pages
Recommendations are technical and spell out exactly what you need to do to make the improvement. We'll also let you know whether the recommendation is a low, medium or high priority.
Webcredible has extensive experience of ensuring CMSs output accessible web pages - we know so much that we even built our own accessible CMS. Rather than move over to our CMS you may need/want to stay with an existing CMS provider. In this instance we can work with you informing you how to improve the CMS so that it produces highly accessible web pages.
Choose the most appropriate CMS
Webcredible can provide impartial advice to help you choose the best CMS to suit your needs. Based on your unique requirements we can identify the best CMSs out there and evaluate them for their strengths and weaknesses. We can then aid you in the procurement of the chosen CMS.
Although we have a highly usable and accessible CMS of our own, it's not the solution for every site. When this is the case we can work with you to find an alternative.
