The usability lab features one computer, two cameras, a microphone and two chairs. There is a large mirror behind the computer, which is actually a one-way mirror that people in the Observation Room are looking through. The room is well lit and has a 'homely' feel to it, as opposed to a corporate feel. The walls are painted white, the carpet is cream coloured and there is a red painting on the wall.
The observation room has a large oak table in the middle, surrounded by six comfortable black chairs. There is a bowl of fruit on the table. In the corner is a large plasma TV displaying what is happening in the Usability Lab next door - a screenshot of the participant's computer is shown, along with a picture of their face in the bottom-left corner, all in real-time. There is a large speaker underneath the TV.
On one wall is the large one-way mirror, through which the Usability Lab is visible. Another wall has glass bricks, to bring extra light into the room. The other two walls have a large whiteboard and a window overlooking the Webcredible garden.
