Download ringtones
I like music and I like to personalise my phone.

Read news or sports content
My new blackberry makes it easy to read online sites. I find I do that more and more.

Check your email
I have an iPhone and e-mails automatically come to my phone so it's easy to check e-mails.
Anon, London, UK
I can keep in touch with work without the hassle of setting up my laptop.
Karen Moyes, MD, USA
It saves me so much time to read my emails on the iPhone. Especially emails that are Facebook related, as it doesn't require actually logging in at their site.
Anon, Oslo, Norway
Use social networks (Facebook etc.)
My Facebook notifications are set to come to my cell, so unless I'm near a computer I generally check my account via my phone. I also commute to and from work, so it's a way to pass the time.
Anon, Vancouver, Canada
I have friends on Facebook all over the world and very often people in a different time zone will be active on Facebook when I'm not in front of a computer.
Vicky, Zurich, Switzerland
Use maps or get directions
It's good for finding my way around London.

Look for local info or transport news
As I travel a lot, the ability to get this information on the move is very important.

None of the above
I actually prefer to use my phone for strictly phone calls and the occasional text message. So I prefer to take my Macbook Pro everywhere I go to access Internet via a broadband card and access my e-mail and other services using this machine and method.
David Lewis, Washington, USA
Internet coverage on my phone is often less than useful, and trying to enter passwords with predictive text on is a nightmare!

Subscription packages and the phones that required to use these services are still very expensive.
