Why you voted this way

A big thank you to all of you that took the time to tell us why you voted how you did. Some of our favourite comments from you, divided up by how you voted, are:

September - October online

I have checked prices in shops and made a comparison on line. I can also get the goods delivered.

Helen, London, UK

Less rushing, much easier and more choice.

September - October high street

In October the high street is usually less crowded and there is a wider choice. Also, you have more time to think about the presents instead of buying something in a rush.

Simona, Croydon, UK

I like to see what I'm buying and want to beat the crowds.

November - December online

Value for money and ease.

Tony, Manchester, UK

I'm an eBay fanatic and can't be bothered to traipse through the city.

Ania Trzaskowska, Norwich, UK

You can easily find exactly what you want online and do not wear yourself out searching the stores and fighting the crowds.

November Online gives me a chance to think gifts through, budget, and bargain hunt while still giving me the time in December to get the little things I forgot.

November - December high street

I voted this way because the real Christmas charm and fun is always going out for shopping the old fashioned way. I may shop online at other times but, Christmas is out there on the streets, shops, cafes, restaurants, and public places that are bright and cheerful. One cannot afford to miss such fun.

Pankaj Mistry, London, UK

My Christmas shopping this year will be at the last minute and I'll be out there looking for bargains.

Nancy Adams, MA, USA

Christmas is an emotional time for many people, and you need to touch and feel and give gifts that have real meaning. Also you can always find bargains in the stores, no real bargains online!

Lynn, London, UK

I am a complete last minute shopper and the internet does not work in that pinch.
