Why you voted this way
A big thank you to all of you that took the time to tell us why you voted how you did. Some of our favourite comments from you, divided up by how you voted, are:
Social networks
Social networking sites are addictive and I think I'd find myself checking my messages while I was on my breaks at work.
Stacey, Nottingham
Travel information/planning
I travel a lot, usually with a printout from Multimap. All the other stuff can wait until I'm at a computer.
Steve Robinson, Manchester, UK
I don't need an online social network when I'm out socialising in the real world and I'm not interested in ads about what's around me, but travel information is useful and practical.
Mia, London, UK
Running from place to place it's not always convenient or possible to plan in advance and have print offs or the right A-Z, and ringing train timetable lines can be a bit hit and miss. The real value is in travel as it answers a real need.
Emma, Corby, UK
I'd like my phone to be a pocket A-Z of London so I can easily find places I'm going to. I don't normally go out with a map, but I do take my phone.
Paul C, London, UK
It's fantastic to be able to communicate anywhere in the planet.
Sara Villicana, Guadalajara, Mexico
E-mail is the thing I do most often, and its the thing I can't do without.
Anon, Tewksbury, USA
E-mail is all I think about. So, easy-to-use e-mail on my mobile would enable me to carry my addiction everywhere!
Scott, Dunedin, New Zealand
I love keeping in contact with my friends and family. I'm not one for social networks, as I have a good social group already and prefer direct contact by e-mail, text or phone.
Nicky, Worcestershire, UK
Local information - what's around you
The only information that I need immediately on my mobile device is local information. The rest is plannable, so I use the Internet.
Robert, Krakow, Poland
I don't like to be on my cell phone a lot, especially for things I can do at home, like check my e-mail or plan trips. When I'm driving in a new area, though, or I'm lost, I'd like a quick and easy way to find a good local restaurant without getting lost.
Sara, Atlanta, USA
Online shopping
I don't have the web at home, so finding out information about businesses / shops, having the potential to check their websites for shopping purposes, and to order via my mobile would be extremely useful - especially to avoid Saturday shopping.
M Watson, Newcastle, UK
